LCC Main Campus
This Event is FREE
All visitors will have fun and excitement from the exhibits made by STEM For All students, This year we will have two new items, a Balloon Rocket Competition and a Solar Eclipse skit.
Balloon Rocket Challenge:
This is a simplified version of similar events held in Science Olympiads. It is open for K-6 students who can get minimal assistance from parents. All participants will be provided a standard kit containing balloons, straws, tape, etc. Rockets will be traveling on a fishing line.
Participants can display their names and their rocket's flight length on the leader board.
All participants will get a small gift.
Solar Eclipse Skit:
STEM For All believes that arts, sports, and cultural activities can help inspire and entice a wider audience to STEM fields. With this in mind, we introduce Solar Eclipse Skit for STEMfest visitors. We plan to have similar emphasis in future STEM For All events at Spartan Young Astronomers Club, MSU Science Festival, etc.
STEM For All will provide ‘Sun’, ‘Moon’, and a script for students to demonstrate the concept of eclipses. Students, with help from parents, will act out the skit to the visitors. This humorous skit will be just a few minutes long. It can be modified by parents to fit the skill level of students. As a bonus, note that the sun and the moon are edible.
Parents interested in signing up their students please contact STEM For All.
